Antique earrings have a special appeal to me. I like all things old and vintage, but antique earrings are special. Take a look at these fabulous beauties. They are from France, circa 1890.
These were on a classified ads site and have unfortunately been sold. I didn't find them quick enough. But I just had to share my find. I have a feeling they might have been out of my price range though. They are lovely.

"Both of these styles eventually gave way to the immensely popular toggle invention that we know today. Designed by Jacob M. Oldak (US Patent No. 2472958), the toggle invention turned cufflinks into an accessory that was incredibly easy to use and opened the door for jewellery production houses to increase production of cufflinks."Cheers!

The next that was heard of him, he was in New York having changed his name and status to Prince James I of the Principality of Trinidad. In New York, he called on an unsuspecting printer and ordered a series of stamps for his “realm”.
